Around 60 players took part in a weekend-long Isle of Wight versus Southampton table tennis challenge at Smallbrook earlier this month.

Ryan Cates battled back from a set down to defeat cadet Toby Payne 3-1 and secure the Island Echo-sponsored Handicapped Singles title last week.

Havenstreet A earned a hard-fought draw with Ryde B in Division 1, while Ryde Rankers and Newport Vics B recorded emphatic victories.

Ryde C underline their title credentials in Division 1 with a commanding  victory over rivals rivals Ryde A.

Ryde A closed the gap on Isle of Wight Table Tennis Division 1 leaders Ryde C after a dominant whitewash against their opponents, while Ryde Revellers endured another difficult night.

Both Division 1 matches ended in 10-0 victories as Ryde C and Havenstreet A swept aside their opponents.
